Does teeth whitening work for everyone?

Many types of Teeth whitening methods are avaliable at your dentist or by the use of whitening kits. The procedure will result in an improvement in the whiteness of your teeth. The level of white achieved by teeth whitening depends on the natural color of the person’s teeth to begin with. Some individuals have deep stains and some have yellowish coloration. Tooth bleaching may cause temporary sensitivity to temperature and/or touch. This side effect is often seen after an in-office dentist whitening. This method involves high concentration of bleach peroxide. Gum irritation is another side effect of the peroxide treatment. Peroxide must be kept off of the gum tissue to avoid irritation.

Your dentist may recommend the use of in-home bleaching trays if you are known to have sensitive teeth. This type of bleach uses carbamide peroxide which is a chemical that is less harsh than hydrogen peroxide. Home bleaching products are avaliable in the form of strips, whitening trays with bleach, gels, laser whitening, etc.... Some Toothpastes are also considered because they are proven whitenersthat can remove food remains as well as plaque and tartar.
